Berkshire Housing Development Corporation (BHDC), in partnership with Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority (BCRHA) is a Housing Consumer Education Center (HCEC). Our HCEC offers answers to a wide range of questions about all types of housing problems. Tenants, landlords, prospective buyers, and homeowers can access information designed to maximize housing stability, strengthen investments, and minimize disputes.

Our Education Center offers answers to a wide range of questions about all types of housing problems. We help individuals and families to find and retain affordable housing and we are Pittsfield's largest provider of rental voucher assistance, serving the homeless, the elderly, the disabled, and low and moderate income residents of the Berkshires.

Foreclosure Prevention Center Helps Homeowners

Berkshire Housing is pleased to announce its affiliation with the Western
Massachusetts Foreclosure Prevention Center and HAP Housing, your local
Housing Assistance Program.

This Center is a collaboration of 15 nonprofit agencies in Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin and Berkshire Counties working together to help homeowners avoid mortgage foreclosure. Berkshire Housing Development Corporation is one of these agencies working closely with the HAP to assist Berkshire County residents facing possible mortgage foreclosure.

Financial Assistance Programs

Any household needing financial assistance for a housing crisis and/or at risk of homelessness may receive advice, information and possible fundsto help their housing crisis from the local Housing Consumer Education Center (HCEC).

If eligible, households may receive funds to help prevent homelessness such as rental arrearages, security deposits, etc. The first step is to attend an Intake Appointment at Berkshire County Regional Housing Authority. Please call 413-443-7138 and ask about financial assistance for homelessness prevention.
